June 7, 2007 If anyone ever challenges me to name something Ocean Raton and a pygmy sperm whale have in common, I am prepared. Thank you "Mammals of the Neotropics."
Don't ask me why, but that was one of the initial thoughts that ran across my mind tonight as I finally uploaded the manuscript to iUniverse . Eleven months to write, two months to review, another month to revise and in about :30 seconds I blindly sent my baby off into the stratosphere to be handled by faceless strangers. Ain't Al Gore's Internet great?
Pygmy sperm whales have a gestation period of eleven months (in case you were wondering). That likely came to mind when I clicked the "SEND" button since that action effectively ended the writing portion of my adventure and launched phase two: PUBLISH & PROMOTE (not all that different from "Option Two" as those of you who read the book will learn). I gave birth, now I need to raise my calf.
What do pygmy sperm whales eat? Any ideas how I should theme her room (yes, it's a girl in honor of my lead "Terri")? Email me your thoughts or post them at the Ocean Raton Message Board.
Well, there's much to get done between now and the book release in September ... does Pampers do a pygmy sperm whale disposable? Stay tuned ... lots more to come.
